The Choir

The choir of Die Kölner Akademie is a group of professional singers which perform in various formations with Die Kölner Akademie. Critics have described their performances as augezeichnet, klangmalerisch. They have participated in productions of Kurt Weill's Der Lindberghflug at the Niedersächsiche Musiktage (which was recorded for the NDR) and at the renowned Carinthischer Sommer festival in Austria (which was taped for ORF). Other productions include W.A. Mozart's Grabmusik which was filmed for WDR television and has been broadcast internationally several time on Karfreitag, Arvo Pärt's Passio.which was performed at the Festival Semana de Música Religiosa de Cuenca and broadcast live all over Spain and a world premeiere recording of Johann Mattheson's Der Liebreiche und Geduldige David* for CPO. Upcoming projects include a performance and recording of Mattheson's Das Größte Kind (Weihnachtsoratorium) and Magnificat, performances of Haydn's Die Schöpfung at the Europäische Festwochen Passau and FESTIVAL EUROPAEISCHE KIRCHENMUSIK in Schwäbisch Gmund; a performance of Pergolesi's Marienvespers at the
Sagra Musicale Umbra (Perugia) and a performance Kurt Weill's "Lindbergh Flight" at the Cité de la Musique in Paris.
